1. What are the requirements for Password Vault Manager?

   Password Vault Manager has both mandatory and optional requirements (the latter applying to the Professional Edition).

   Mandatory Requirements:

   • Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5
   • Windows XP or better

   Optional Requirements:

   • Microsoft Sql Server 2005 Express or better

2. I'm getting the error: “System.InvalidOperationException: This implementation is not part of the Windows Platform FIPS validated cryptographic algorithms.” How do I fix this?

   Cause: Remote Desktop Manager uses the AES/Rijndael encryption and SHA-256 hashing algorithms, which are implemented by the Microsoft .NET Framework. If the local security policy on your system enforces FIPS compliant implementations, Remote Desktop Manager cannot run. As a result, you will receive this error message.

   Fix: To fix this error, configure the local security policy on your system to allow FIPS non-compliant algorithm implementations. Here are the steps:

   1. Go to Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Local Security Policy > Open Local Policies > Security Options
   2. Disable the option “System cryptography: Use FIPS compliant algorithms for encryption, hashing, and signing.”

3. Can I use my single user license on two of my computers without purchasing a second license?

   Yes. Password Vault Manager licenses are per USER, not per MACHINE. We have done this so that you can enjoy the product both at home and in your office without having to pay additional licensing fees.

4. What is the price for the Standard Edition of Password Vault Manager?

5. Is there a limit to the number of entries that I can use in the Standard (free) Edition of Password Vault Manager?

   No, it's unlimited.

6. Where can I download the Professional Edition of Password Vault Manager?

   For efficiency and user convenience, both the Standard Edition and Professional Edition of Password Vault Manager share the same binaries. Simply download the Standard Edition and enter your serial key to unlock the features of the Professional Edition.

   To enter your serial key, go to Help > Register Version, and follow the prompts.

7. What is your policy on application upgrades?

   To ensure that Password Vault Manager is future-proofed, we offer a full one year of free upgrades and supports. This includes ALL major and minor updates.

8. I've purchased the Professional Edition of Password Vault Manager, but haven't received my serial number. What should I do?

   Please start by checking your SPAM folder. If you don't find the email from us in there, then it's possible that the email you entered during the buying process is invalid or incorrect. Please send a note to infos@devolutions.net with your name and a valid reply email address, and we will promptly re-send the serial number to you.
